Our team of specialist lawyers, which includes a Chartered Town Planner, has market leading experience in planning (zoning), highways and associated environmental issues relating to all types of development particularly renewable energy projects, major infrastructure projects and mixed use projects.

We work with and as part of our clients’ development teams, establishing close working relationships and supporting from the inception of a project through to its implementation and completion. We also work closely with our real estate, environment, construction, health and safety, banking and corporate commercial specialist lawyers to provide a seamless service on projects and transactions.

Our experience includes advising on the following:

South Hook CHP Limited

  • we were retained as project counsel on the structuring, permitting, development and construction of the UK’s largest proposed gas fired CHP Plant (approx. 500MW) and its associated grid connection and secured the grant of a Development Consent Order

The Cabinet Office

  • on its programme to bring together the development and finance capability required to deploy ground mounted and rooftop solar PV assets on the Government’s estate together with lease arrangements, procurement, State Aid requirements and elements of Power Purchase Agreements and other contracts

Next Energy Capital

  • on the LSE Main Market IPO of its UK listed fund and assisting the fund in investing in approximately [400MW] of UK solar PV assets


  • on its entry and investment in the UK solar market including the acquisition, funding and sale of approximately [200MW] of ground mounted and rooftop solar PV assets and the creation of a US Yield Co
