International law firm Simmons & Simmons has expanded its corporate and commercial group today with the addition of senior M&A lawyer Mark Carroll, who joins the firm’s London office as a partner.*
Mark joins from Clifford Chance, where he was previously a partner for almost 20 years. Specialising in M&A transactional and corporate advisory work, Mark’s work includes high end M&A, joint ventures, strategic investments, some capital markets work and private equity work. As well as advising on traditional M&A work for investment managers, Mark has advised on sales of LLP interests, including several LLP interest portfolio sales.
Mark Curtis, head of the firm’s international corporate and commercial group, commented; “We are very pleased to welcome Mark to our expanding corporate and commercial practice, particularly as he was previously an associate and then partner at the firm. His arrival demonstrates our ability to attract highly regarded practitioners and that the firm is serious about our commitment to the development of our corporate practice.”
Giles Dennison, head of the corporate practice in the UK, added; “Mark’s hire is consistent with the focus of the corporate group. His experience and connections, particularly in the asset management and investment funds and TMT sectors, will only strengthen our existing offering to clients”.
Mark Carroll commented, “I am so pleased to be re-joining Simmons & Simmons. I share the firm’s ambition, values and pursuit of excellence in client service. I very much look forwards to working with the team to continue its thriving practice in the UK and internationally.”
