Andrea Chao joins the Netherlands Branch Council of the International Project Finance Association (IPFA) as FLN Representative.
Andrea Chao, Managing Associate of Simmons & Simmons projects practice has joined The Netherlands Branch Council of the International Project Association (IPFA) as the sole Simmons & Simmons representative. The IPFA Future Leaders Network (FLN) is specifically targeted at the next generation of leaders in the industry and aims to provide a platform for IPFA’s junior & mid-tier members.
Together with lawyers from Simmons & Simmons’ African project practice, Andrea was one of the organisers of the very well received recent FLN event recently hosted by Simmons & Simmons on ‘Project and project finance opportunities in Africa for Dutch parties’.
Andrea has nine years of experience in projects and procurement. She has a wide range of experience in the development and contract management of innovative and complex large-scale projects, advising employers, lenders, investors and contractors. Such projects include renewables, infrastructure, production facilities and office space. Recent and ongoing projects include the development of a new early life nutrition facility, the development of several innovative biomass (manure digestion systems) facilities and PPP’s (incl. highway A16 and the Markaz barracks in Flushing).
IPFA is a company limited by guarantee, established in London in 1998 and is now the largest and the only international, independent, not-for-profit, professional member’s association dedicated to promoting and representing the interests of both public and private sector organisations involved in project finance worldwide
IPFA operates through 18 branches throughout the world. Each branch has a Branch Council which represents the interests of the membership of that particular branch. The Branch Council represents the interests of the membership of the association in their area and acts as ambassadors to promote the aims of the association, to encourage new members, and to advance Project Finance and Public Private Partnerships in their region.
