Employment partner, Fiona Bolton joins the firm
International law firm Simmons & Simmons has expanded its top-tier employment practice with the addition of a new partner in London, Fiona Bolton, who joins the firm from Eversheds Sutherland.
Having established and led the specialist Financial Institutions sector employment team at her previous firm, Fiona will strengthen Simmons & Simmons’ market-leading presence in banking and financial services. She has previously worked with clients such as Citi, HSBC and Lockton.
Fiona is set to become a key member of the Simmons & Simmons’ cross-disciplinary employment group. She will advise financial services clients on all issues affecting their people, including the Senior Managers, Certification Regime (SMCR) and conduct regime, as well as other contentious matters arising out of regulatory investigations.
Simmons & Simmons’ SMCR team is comprised of expert lawyers from its highly regarded employment and financial markets regulatory practices who advise affected firms on the incoming implementation of the regime. The specialist team is also engaging with leading industry groups such as the Investment Association and the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) on the SMCR.
Fiona brings more than 17 years’ experience in advising financial services clients across the full range of employment matters. She has worked on various projects including complex litigation in the Employment Tribunal and the High Court, internal grievances and disciplinaries, whistleblowing, international project work (including outsourcings and TUPE), investigations and regulatory issues such as the SMCR.
Fiona has received many awards for her work and was named by Lawyer Monthly as the winner of their Women in Law Awards 2017 for Employment and Labour Law (based on market feedback).
