Advising Meridiam on the closing of its Africa fund

The Paris office of international law firm Simmons & Simmons has advised the Meridiam investment platform on the closing of its Meridiam Infrastructure Africa Fund, which reached €546mn. Launched in 2015, for the amount of €207mn, the final envelope reached an amount 2.5 times higher than initially expected. The fund has already financed the development of 14 major projects in Africa, worth more than €3bn.
Meridiam's Africa Fund will be the first to systematically apply, for all of its projects, the Sustainable Development criteria and objectives established by the UN in 2015. After InfraVia European Fund IV and InfraGreen III, this new fundraising operation demonstrates the leadership of Simmons & Simmons Paris' fund creation team in building infrastructure funds in France.
The team was was led by partner, Agnès Rossi, assisted by associates Sarah Barrau-Ceville and Marion Labbe-Sevilla.
