Dr Martin Gramsch
Martin is a lawyer based in our Düsseldorf office. He advises national and international clients on all contentious and non-contentious intellectual property issues and competition law.

- advising a construction material manufacturer on contractual matters with regard to research and development and transfer of intellectual property rights
- advising a US medical device manufacturer on contractual matters with regard to patent rights and antitrust law issues
- advising a semiconductor manufacturer on licensing issues caused by the insolvency of a competitor.
Martin joined Simmons & Simmons as a lawyer in 2009. During his studies at the University of Jena, he specialised in intellectual property rights, copyright law and competition law. He was awarded a PhD for his work on a topic in the scope of unfair competition law and trade mark law. His PhD thesis was funded with a scholarship from the Free State of Thuringia. During his legal traineeship, Martin spent training seats at an international law firm and the legal department of the Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG where he deepened his knowledge in the field of intellectual property rights. In 2011, Martin attended a masters degree course (LL.M. Regulation and Technology Law) at King's College London focusing mainly on information and communication technology law.
Martin is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR) and the Association of Intellectual Property Experts (VPP).
