Dr Sebastian Petrack
Sebastian is a lawyer in our Düsseldorf office. He advises clients in all aspects of intellectual property, whether contentious and non-contentious, having a main focus on patent law.

Sebastian joined Simmons & Simmons as a lawyer in 2017, after having practiced law with a mid-size law firm located in Frankfurt/Main since 2014. Before that he worked as a Scientific Employee with the Chair of Public Law, Administrative Law, European Law, Agricultural Law and Environmental Law with Prof. Dr. Ines Härtel at the Ruhr University of Bochum.
He received a PhD from European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) in 2016. His PhD thesis was awarded with 1. Graduation Award 2016 by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Agrarrecht – Vereinigung für Agrar- und Umweltrecht e.V. Prior to that, Sebastian passed his LL.M. studies (intellectual property law) with Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf in the year 2011 after having completed legal traineeship with Higher Regional Court Düsseldorf and studies at Ruhr University of Bochum.
